Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Medical Director to provide strategic leadership and direction to our team of medical professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare management and a proven track record of successfully leading a team of medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Holds responsibility for the quality of medical care delivered in the hospital's Employee Health and Occupational Medicine practices.
  • Delivers clinical care to employees, particularly in difficult or complex cases.
  • Collaborates with the dyad partner in the development and implementation of policy and practice that promotes employee wellness, infectious disease avoidance & mitigation, and general employee safety.
  • Supports the Epidemiology, Infection Control & Prevention (EICP) Department to control outbreaks and potential employee exposure to infection.
  • Develops and maintains the necessary clinical policies and practices and disseminates these throughout the health system.
  • Develops and supports Worker Safety programs through clinical leadership.
  • Ensures the proper distribution of reports and interprets the results to take corrective action where needed.
  • Serves as a clinical resource to the Employee Health and Occupational Medicine practices and may serve as a consultant in Occupational Health to other departments and client companies.
Qualifications
  • BC/BE in Occupational Medicine - Preferred.
  • Must maintain a current, unrestricted medical license and be a member in good standing of the Medical Staff and THMG.
  • THMG will commit to providing incumbent physician education related to management training.
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current medical license and board certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in the healthcare industry.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Experience with budget planning and management.
