Job Summary

We are seeking an Aquatics Program Lead to lead swim lessons for students of all ages and abilities based on our Kroc Center Learn to Swim curriculum. As an Aquatics Program Lead, you will instruct students on swimming technique and general water safety protocol, while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Responsibilities
  • Know, explain, and exemplify the mission, purpose, and values of The Salvation Army and the Kroc Center
  • Provide swim instruction to students of all ages (parent & child; youth & adult lessons) and ability levels
  • Instruct swim lessons based on established Kroc Center Learn to Swim Curriculum
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback and recommendations for continued work, as appropriate
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and recommendations for further development
  • Assist other Aquatics personnel with response to incidents and injuries, completing all necessary paperwork
Requirements
  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Must possess and maintain current certificates in American Red Cross First Aid, CPR, and AED, or obtain after hire
  • Experience leading small groups of children; understanding of basic child development philosophy preferred
Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of aquatic instruction and coaching
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact with co-workers, management, leadership, and the general public in a positive, productive manner
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment
Salary Information

$25,000 - $35,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and more.
