Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Specialist 2 to join our team. As a senior practicing specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients within your specialized field, advising and conferring with members of other disciplines to ensure comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and revise medical policy and procedures to ensure quality care.
  • Review lab work, specialty consults, hospital discharges, and medical visit summaries to assist the treatment team.
  • Discuss care with hospital or rehabilitation facility providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Approve discharge summaries and review medical information for new admissions.
  • Communicate with team members and family members regarding medical issues.
  • Provide short-term prescription renewals and function as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
Requirements
  • Provide after-hours and weekend on-call medical telephone consults.
  • Provide coverage of primary medical care for people living in a Comprehensive Adult Transitional Home.
  • Provide medical expertise to Family Care Program and Community Mental Health Nurses.
