Job Summary:

The University of Miami UHealth System is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center in Deerfield. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing complex procedures in Mammography, utilizing radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images with minimal radiation exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and examine orders for Mammography scans, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness for the recommended exam.
  • Identify patient service requirements, verifying patient ID and obtaining necessary consents and education.
  • Perform complex specialized tasks associated with Mammography scanners and related equipment, adhering to radiation safety procedures and age-appropriate standards of practice.
  • Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast media as needed.
  • Load and operate power injectors for contrast media administration, evaluate Mammography scans for technical quality, and collate processed images in sequence of exposure.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education required; graduate of a Radiologic Technology program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • ARRT registered and current State of Florida License as a General Radiographer; ARRT certification in primary modality required within 12 months of hire.
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience preferred; will consider new graduates from accredited schools.
