We are seeking a highly trained Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our team at Deciphera Pharmaceuticals. The MSL will report to our Sr. Director, Medical Affairs and will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing relationships with current and future Healthcare Providers (HCPs) in academic and community practices.
The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical and/or scientific background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively build relationships with global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). The MSL will be responsible for exchanging complex medical and scientific information with the oncology community, developing valued and productive scientific relationships with KOLs and other disease experts, and providing medical/scientific presentations to internal and external groups.
The MSL will also be responsible for providing internal Medical stakeholders with feedback and insights from interactions and discussions with HCPs, assisting with awareness of company-sponsored clinical trials and investigator-initiated trials (ISTs), and providing support at professional meetings, including staffing exhibits, collecting competitive intelligence, and developing tools that support the function.
The MSL will maintain clinical, scientific, and technical expertise in specific therapeutic areas, review scientific journals, attend scientific and key technical meetings, and represent the company and Medical Affairs during exchanges with the medical/scientific community.
The ideal candidate will have a PharmD, PhD, or RN with advanced degree, 5+ years of experience in oncological malignancies, and 5+ years of experience as a field-based MSL. The candidate will also have experience with clinical research, publication activities, congress/conference, and presenting scientific data, as well as training and/or knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and global regulations.
