Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant II Phlebotomist to join our team at Metrowest Medical Center. As a Laboratory Assistant II Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing routine technical and clerical functions, including specimen registration and billing, specimen receipt and distribution, and phlebotomy duties.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing.
- Perform specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens.
- Perform phlebotomy duties as assigned.
- Will perform waived testing, and assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a phlebotomy program preferred.
- 1 year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program required.
- Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferred.
Certifications:
- Phlebotomy certification where State law requires.
- Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar preferred.
