About the Job

Pro Pipe Corporation is seeking a skilled Locate Technician to join our team. As a Locate Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our underground utility operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Locate Underground Facilities: Use specialized equipment to accurately identify and mark underground utilities such as telephone lines, electrical power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines.
  • Communicate with Stakeholders: Interact daily with managers, excavation crews, and homeowners to discuss locate issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Interpret Job Orders: Read and interpret job order tickets to ensure accurate location of utilities and respond accordingly.
  • Operate Independently: Work independently to determine efficient routes to each locate in rural and urban areas.
  • Remove and Replace Manhole Lids: Safely remove and replace manhole lids as needed.
Requirements
  • Willingness to Learn: Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds and walk up to 5 miles in one day, several times a week, in various weather conditions.
  • Valid Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to Access Restricted Areas: Ability to access restricted and/or controlled areas, such as federal installations.
