Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive mental status examinations to diagnose and treat a variety of emotional and psychiatric disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Participate in peer review and clinical risk management meetings to ensure high-quality care.
  • Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, as well as general medical concerns.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate in medicine (MD) from an accredited medical school.
  • Current licensure in North Carolina.
  • Successful completion of an approved residency program in adult psychiatry.
  • Two or more years of experience providing services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness.
  • Ability to prescribe buprenorphine under the Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000 (DATA 2000 waiver).
