Job Description

The Patient Care Technician I is a vital member of the healthcare team, assisting rehabilitation nurses with rehabilitation treatment and patient care according to hospital, state, professional, and federal regulations and guidelines. This role requires effective communication skills for working with patients, families, and caregivers. The successful candidate will also possess competency in assisting with delegated rehabilitation treatment and patient care, as well as performing tasks as delegated by and supervised by rehabilitation nurses.

Maintaining open and ongoing communication with coworkers and supervisors is essential in this role. The Patient Care Technician I supports an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by helping to provide patient safety and patient-centered treatment.

Qualifications
  • CPR certification required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

This role also requires the ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds, including medical supplies and equipment, and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling exceed these minimum requirements.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $55,000 per year
