About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for completing analysis of waste stream samples per SOPs and waste analysis plan, inventory control for lab reagents, maintenance of samples/instruments, data entry, analytical equipment usage, associated filing and administrative activities within the laboratory.

Responsibilities
  • You will follow permit requirements to collect and test compounds and samples, using applied methods techniques.
  • You will enter quantities, volumes and analytical results into waste management software.
  • You will perform QA/QC analytical screening parameters as dictated by permit. Follow all approved Laboratory SOPs.
  • You will ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards including the proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemical agents.
  • You will operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • You will perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in chemistry or biology is required.
  • You must have the ability to work in a team and fast-paced environment.
  • You must have the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing.
  • Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer are expected.
  • You must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods while conducting lab tests.
  • You must have the ability to lift 50 pounds throughout the workday.
  • You must be able to complete 40-hour OSHA training with 8-hour refresher courses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years bench experience in analytical chemistry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Regulations is preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in Hazardous Waste Industry is preferred.
