Project Management Engineer for Infrastructure Development

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is a leading transportation system in the United States, serving a vast network of routes across 2,200 square miles. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing projects to ensure efficiency and reliability.
About the RoleThis position involves overseeing various projects from planning to completion, working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. You will be responsible for developing budgets, schedules, and resource plans, as well as coordinating design concepts and reviews with operations departments.
You will work with government agencies, local communities, and special interest groups, presenting designs at public meetings and ensuring effective communication in executive-level environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage project planning, development, and execution to meet SEPTA's requirements and stakeholder needs.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other teams to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including department managers, consultant firms, and government officials.
- Schedule, assign, and oversee the work of a small team of engineers and construction inspectors.
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related engineering, or an equivalent combination of experience and qualifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to present designs at public meetings.
- Working knowledge of project management software and tools, such as spreadsheets and word processing.
- A valid driver's license.
- Possession of a Master's degree or PE/RA registration is preferred.
