At Swickard Auto Group, we're seeking a skilled Automotive Repair Specialist to join our team. As a Service Technician, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of automotive problems. Your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will be essential in ensuring vehicles are running smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosis and Repair:
  • Analyze customer concerns and symptoms to identify the root cause of vehicle malfunctions.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint problems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of various vehicle systems.
  • Prepare repair plans outlining necessary repairs and estimated costs.
  • Repair and replace faulty components following service manuals and manufacturer specifications.
  • Test repairs to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Document all repairs and parts used on service orders.

Customer Service:

  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide accurate estimates and timelines for repairs.
  • Keep customers updated on service progress and address any concerns promptly.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Possess a strong understanding of automotive systems.
  • Stay up to date on new technologies and repair procedures.
  • Perform a wide range of repairs, from basic maintenance to complex engine or transmission overhauls.
  • Proficient in using various diagnostic tools and automotive repair equipment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • May perform test drives to evaluate vehicle performance and diagnose issues.
  • May research technical information and consult with colleagues or service manuals to solve complex problems.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrating a high "HQ" (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Service Technician or related automotive repair experience.
  • Completion of an automotive technician training program or equivalent experience.
  • Possession of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications is a strong plus.
