**Job Overview:**

New Mexico Highlands University is seeking a highly skilled Administrative Assistant to facilitate and administer the day-to-day operations of our department.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Oversee and manage office operations, including policy development, procedure implementation, and system management.
  • Provide exceptional support to internal and external constituencies, serving as the primary point of contact for inquiries and issues.
  • Organize and coordinate meetings, events, and special projects, ensuring timely completion and effective execution.
  • Monitor and reconcile fiscal administration, including budgeting, funding, grants, contracts, payroll, employment, travel, and purchasing.
  • Analyze data, compile statistics, and gather information to prepare reports, summaries, and replies to inquiries.
  • Develop and manage projects to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a key liaison between departments, providing information and resolving issues.
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and databases, implementing data management systems as needed.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in administrative roles, with expertise in office management, financial administration, and project coordination.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple deadlines.

**Work Environment:**

The successful candidate will be based in Las Vegas, NM, working in a typical interior/office setting with frequent interruptions. The position requires sitting for extended periods and may involve occasional physical effort.

**Salary Information:**

$16.54 per hour, commensurate with experience.
