About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Merchandise Coordinator to join our Buying Department at Dollar Tree.

Job Description

The Assistant Merchandise Coordinator will assist Buyers with administrative and clerical tasks, including data entry related to specific merchandise departments. This position requires frequent communication with other members of the buying team as well as internal departments, vendors, distribution centers, and stores.

Responsibilities include:

  • Communicating regularly with suppliers to obtain new product information, current pricing, descriptions, UPC codes, etc.
  • Maintaining relationships to collaborate on resolving issues/discrepancies with support areas.
  • Managing the marketing projection tool by entering deals, projections, scan allowances, and co-op.
  • Collecting, reviewing, and proofing product samples prior to shipment to ensure accuracy and adherence to Family Dollar Guidelines.
  • Coordinating team and vendor meetings and managing Buyer and Associate/Assistant Buyer's calendar.
  • Performing data entry functions, including RTVs, new item setup, supplier maintenance, price changes, and item maintenance.
  • Following up on online reviews to ensure timely entries and deletions in a master spreadsheet and performing other line review functions as needed.
  • Communicating with customers to resolve complaints, issues, and special requests, generating standardized letters, and following up on customer calls and issues.
  • Performing various administrative duties such as answering phones, opening mail, distributing reports, creating presentations, filing, typing, and sending letters.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Retail experience preferred.
  • A proven track record in priority setting and managing multiple tasks, with strong written and communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office desktop applications and all Windows-based programs.

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
