Job Summary

The Manufacturing Technician II performs assembly operations to mass-produce products such as windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs by performing various duties.

  • Assembles parts in specified relationships to each other.
  • Bolts, clips, screws, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together.
  • Removes defective products as needed.
  • Tends machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations on an assembly line.
  • Works at different workstations as production needs require.
  • Adapts to changing tasks and models of products produced.
  • Cleans equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior carpentry experience is also preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Activity

  • Continuous standing, use of hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing.
  • Continuous walking.
  • Occasional climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
  • Loud noise level in the work environment.
  • Required to wear ear plugs for noise protection, eye protection, and other personal protective equipment.

Estimated Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is $40,000-$60,000, depending on location and experience.
