Join BluePearl Pet Hospital as a Licensed Anesthesia Veterinary Technician
We are seeking a passionate and skilled veterinary technician to join our team in Columbia, SC. As a Licensed Anesthesia Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
- Anesthesia capable for critical patients
- Ability to troubleshoot
- Place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein
- Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort
- Understand normal vital parameters and alerts doctor when abnormal
- Set up intravenous fluids
- Administer subcutaneous fluids
- Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors
- Comfortable with medical math
- Ability to take patient through entire procedure from start to finish (pre-op, monitoring, post-op, and recovery)
- Comfortable with intubation, prepping patients for surgery
- Disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically
- Monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload

Requirements:
- Current licensure as a veterinary technician in the state of South Carolina
- Experience in anesthesia care and patient monitoring
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
