Home Health Therapist Position for Occupational Care

BAYADA Home Health Care is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Elk Mills, Maryland.
Job DescriptionThis role involves providing occupational therapy services to adult and geriatric patients in their homes throughout Cecil County. As a member of our multidisciplinary health care team, you will play a crucial role in delivering rehabilitative care and skilled nursing services to clients, enabling them to receive the necessary medical attention to remain at home.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' functional status, including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, and ADL and IADL performance.
- Assess cognitive, psychological, and motor aspects of performance and develop individualized intervention plans to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Evaluate home environment for hazards or barriers to independent living and identify equipment needs and environmental adaptations.
- Continually assess and revise the occupational therapy care plan, participating with nursing in the multidisciplinary care plan as needed.
- Educate and instruct patients, family members, or other patient representatives on rehabilitative care and activities essential for promoting client health, safety, and independent living.
- Accurately document observations, interventions, and evaluations related to patient care management and services provided using state-of-the-art technology.
- A current MD Occupational Therapist license.
- Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA and the AOTA, as indicated by school transcript or diploma.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid computer skills, with prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
BAYADA offers a competitive salary of $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including:
