Correctional Health Nurse

This is a challenging leadership role for a qualified Registered Professional Nurse to work in the Correctional Health Services division of NYC Health + Hospitals. We are seeking an experienced nurse to join our team and provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to patients in correctional facilities.

Responsibilities- Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain accurate medical records.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Supervise and educate less-skilled nursing staff, including LPNs, CNAs, and PCA's.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience in a correctional health setting.
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.
