Job Title: Relish Production Lead

Job Summary:
This role is responsible for leading the relish, sauce, and mustard making area. The successful candidate will coordinate various products to supply production needs, maintain the flow of stock to the production area, and operate the PC operations on second and third shift.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct daily activities of relish, sauce, and mustard crews, general labor.
  • Operate the relish, sauce, and mustard making area without immediate supervision.
  • Read recipes, ensure proper recipes are being used, and make analytical adjustments if needed.
  • Calculate line yields and provide production with the proper amount for production runs.
  • Oversee and understand the operation of the Chlorine Dioxide system.
  • Responsible for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) checks.
  • Oversee fresh cucumber receiving area during the green season.
  • Fill in for any PC positions when employees are absent.
  • Perform minor mechanical work, such as patching hoses and cleaning Tempco as needed.
  • Escalate quality defects and concerns to leads/supervisors.
  • Follow safe practices and report safety issues to supervisors as they arise.
  • Conduct inspections as necessary and report results, including recommendations for corrective actions to supervisors.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and proper sanitation and housekeeping in the area.
  • Perform periodic safety and GMP audits as needed.
  • Other duties as instructed by the manager or lead coordinator.

Requirements:
  • Upon hire, will train to become Lock Out Tag Out certified and maintain qualification.
  • Must successfully pass on-the-job training and maintain operator qualification.
  • Forklift driving license required.

Work Environment:
This role requires working in a fast-paced production environment with high noise levels, chemicals, strong odors, fumes, and airborne particles. The employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, rubber boots, and chemical protection.
