Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents, a premier provider of comprehensive medical, behavioral, and rehabilitative services, is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Support Specialist to join our dedicated team.

Competitive Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, commensurate with education and experience

About the Role:

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated individual to provide direct supervision, care, and daily living skills direction to intellectually disabled adolescents in a residential setting. As a Behavioral Health Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing positive intervention, limit-setting, response, problem-solving, and guidance when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision and care to residents, promoting a safe and supportive environment
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Document resident progress and behavior, using accurate and timely recording techniques
  • Participate in management of aggressive behavior, utilizing de-escalation techniques and crisis prevention strategies
  • Support residents in developing positive coping strategies, promoting long-term recovery and wellness

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field or equivalent required; Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with intellectually disabled individuals or similar populations
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (preferred)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, use full range of body motion, and work in a fast-paced environment
