Scheduled Hours: Monday- Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm, 35hrs

Compensation: $19.38 per hour

Primary Objective:

The role focuses on delivering direct assistance in a day program environment for participants with special needs, aiming to enhance their overall quality of life concerning physical, emotional, and mental well-being while complying with CCARC policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate effective, respectful, and appropriate communication with team members regarding participant care, including daily observations and documentation of any changes in behavior or health.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive assessment records, annual reviews, and service plans while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Provide essential physical and emotional support to participants, including assistance with personal care, hygiene, and medication administration.
  • Educate participants on personal hygiene and grooming, serving as a role model to boost their self-esteem.
  • Organize and lead social and recreational activities within the community and at the facility, ensuring safe transportation for participants.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of program areas.
  • Monitor nutritional needs during mealtimes, adhering to individual dietary guidelines.
  • Ensure the safety of all individuals, including self and others, while properly utilizing equipment and reporting incidents as necessary.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency protocols and respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and participate in required training sessions, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Support individuals in achieving and sustaining employment by adapting activities and equipment to maximize their potential.
  • Act as a liaison between employment sites and CCARC, promoting participant inclusion and maintaining relevant records.
  • Adhere to universal precautions and infection control policies, collaborating with team members to address challenges as they arise.
  • Assist in the training and support of substitute staff as needed.
  • Review and manage documentation in master files appropriately.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driver's License and insurability with the Agency's carrier are mandatory.
  • Completion of the Agency's Employee Training is required.
  • Willingness to obtain training in CPR, First Aid, PMT, and DDS Medication Administration.
  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and email usage is preferred.
