Job Responsibilities

As an Interagency Training Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training programs that support both intra-agency and inter-agency emergency management training. Your goal will be to create a highly skilled emergency management community by offering top-notch training, building leaders who can prepare for and respond to any emergency situation, and coordinating effectively with internal and external partners.

Main Tasks
  • Develop full cycle instructional design and development for instructor-led, micro courses, and self-paced e-learning courses.
  • Facilitate courses, manage course logistics, and deliver presentations as needed.
  • Apply adult learning theory and instructional design methodology into course development and facilitation.
  • Translate emergency plans and related materials into training curriculum and learning programs.
  • Work with subject matter experts to design and develop audience-appropriate, clear, and concise training content.
  • Develop, manage, and improve learning and development programs.
  • Collaborate with vendors to develop curriculum material when applicable.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in emergency management, public administration, or a related field. A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent and six years of professional experience are required. Alternatively, a baccalaureate degree and two years of experience or a master's degree and one year of experience may also be considered.
