Training Program Developer for Emergency Management

The City of New York INC is seeking an experienced Training Program Developer to join our team in the role of Interagency Training Specialist. This exciting opportunity will enable you to contribute your skills and expertise to develop comprehensive training programs that support emergency management.

Job ResponsibilitiesAs an Interagency Training Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive training programs that support both intra-agency and inter-agency emergency management training. Your goal will be to create a highly skilled emergency management community by offering top-notch training, building leaders who can prepare for and respond to any emergency situation, and coordinating effectively with internal and external partners.
Main Tasks- Develop full cycle instructional design and development for instructor-led, micro courses, and self-paced e-learning courses.
- Facilitate courses, manage course logistics, and deliver presentations as needed.
- Apply adult learning theory and instructional design methodology into course development and facilitation.
- Translate emergency plans and related materials into training curriculum and learning programs.
- Work with subject matter experts to design and develop audience-appropriate, clear, and concise training content.
- Develop, manage, and improve learning and development programs.
- Collaborate with vendors to develop curriculum material when applicable.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in emergency management, public administration, or a related field. A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent and six years of professional experience are required. Alternatively, a baccalaureate degree and two years of experience or a master's degree and one year of experience may also be considered.
