Speech Language Pathologist Job Summary

The Sandy Ridge Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in evaluating and treating residents with impaired ability to swallow or communicate due to disease process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate resident's functional needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Follow physician's orders and facility policies to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Assist in establishing communication and/or swallowing decline prevention policies and procedures.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and evaluate resident's swallowing and communication abilities.
  • Provide treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of communication and/or swallowing function possible.
  • Recommend and/or provide assistive devices to prevent decline in resident's function.
  • Provide resident or caregiver education to promote independence and self-care.
Requirements:
  • A current license as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of practice.
  • A certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech and Hearing Association, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Solid computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
