Job Description:


We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathology Assistant to support students’ communication needs in a school-based setting. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to implement individualized treatment plans, conduct screenings and assessments, and provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.


Responsibilities:



  1. Conduct screenings and assessments to identify students with speech and language concerns, collaborating with teachers and other professionals to develop effective support strategies.
  2. Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, targeting articulation, language, fluency, and pragmatic skills.
  3. Provide direct therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, working closely with the Speech-Language Pathologist to ensure seamless communication and effective progress monitoring.
  4. Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and student outcomes, ensuring timely and comprehensive reporting to stakeholders.
  5. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students’ communication goals and enhance their academic performance, promoting a culture of inclusivity and support within the school community.

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field.
  • Completion of a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • State licensure or certification as an SLPA, or eligibility for licensure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred, but not required.
