Donations and Volunteer Coordinator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Donations and Volunteer Coordinator to join our team at Access Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating and sustaining relationships with businesses and individuals in the community to secure donations and volunteer support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in cultivating and sustaining relationships with businesses and individuals in the community to secure donations and volunteer support.
- Communicate with the Engagement Team and other Access departments regularly to identify agency's donation and volunteering needs.
- Solicit monetary and in-kind donations, as appropriate, and in accordance with the needs of the agency.
- Coordinate the pickup and/or delivery of donations to the shelter.
- Manage the donation room, including receipt, valuation, and storage of incoming, in-kind goods.
- Accurately and consistently enter data into the agency's donor management system and develop reports using the software, as needed.
- Write and send letters, cards, and emails of acknowledgment to 'in-kind' donors in a timely manner.
- Responsible for administrative tasks along with holiday Adopt-A Family program.
- Maintain an updated wish list for the agency and coordinate weekend meal donations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Development.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in business management, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Demonstrated and sincere willingness and commitment to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Commitment to learning and deepening one's knowledge of the issue of homelessness and how it intersects with other experiences and identities of those living in shelter.
- Experience in successfully managing or leading teams of people.
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Comfortability with learning new software programs.
- Self-motivated, process-oriented, reliable, creative, flexible, and a self-starter.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License, proof of liability insurance, and reliable personal transportation needed.
Physical Requirements:
A person in this position must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time and to bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to 40 lbs. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these duties.
