Heart Failure Program Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiovascular Specialist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, conducting research, and participating in teaching and quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Education: Provide clinical guidance and support to Fellows, Housestaff, and non-physician professionals. Participate in conferences and Continuing Medical Education programs to enhance patient referrals.
- Research: Collaborate as a primary or sub-investigator to expand the Pauley Heart Center's Clinical research portfolio.
- Service: Contribute to quality, safety, and efficiency initiatives. Consider formal leadership positions based on prior experience and rank.
- Clinical: Focus on outpatient, inpatient, catheterization laboratory, and consultative services.
- Other: Submit billing and document care as required by the organization. Adhere to all medical staff requirements.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology with expertise in cardiovascular disease, MCS, and heart transplantation.
- Clinically oriented with sufficient research and teaching experience for an academic appointment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for a multidisciplinary program.
- Ability to participate in teaching and fellowship programs.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Virginia.
- Demonstrated experience in fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
- Interest in critical care and cardiogenic shock.
