Art Therapist for Developmental Disabilities

The TERI, Inc. team is seeking a skilled Art Therapist for Developmental Disabilities to join our Center for the Arts program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering direct support and training to participants with varying levels of ability, including children and adults. Your primary focus will be on overseeing daily program activities related to Active Treatment, Behavior Modification, and other specified protocols, while ensuring adherence to individual education and program plans.
Responsibilities:
* Develop adapted lessons that cater to diverse client abilities, incorporating interactive experiential activities, basic and intermediate painting and drawing skills, and TERI Artists exhibits and special events.
* Teach a range of art mediums, with a primary focus on painting, to include all aspects of painting and drawing, utilizing predominantly acrylic paint and acrylic mediums for individuals at all skill stages.
* Maintain current knowledge of developments in arts education, curricular developments relating to painting, and provide creative and client-appropriate painting activities to individuals and groups of clients.
* Stay up-to-date with personal development in the full range of techniques and tools taught, as well as new or innovative products relevant to special needs populations.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Education, Art Education, Studio Art, Fine Arts, or Painting
* One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination in developmentally disabled individuals, preferably in a day program setting
* Ability to obtain a Class B Driver's License with a 2-year clean driving record
