Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

About the Role:
Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Mammography Unit Operator, you will be responsible for operating a mammography unit to produce high-quality images of the breasts for diagnostic purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Explain the procedure to patients, position and immobilize the patient's breast in the unit, and observe the scanning process.
- Monitor the video display of the area being scanned and adjust the density or contrast to improve picture quality.
- Review and evaluate the film or image recording plate to determine if the images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and ensure the safety of patients and caregivers.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), in good standing.
- Certification in Mammography: R.T.(R) (M) (ARRT).
- Current state licensure (RL) required prior to employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Successful completion of 40 hours of mammography training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
