Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing direct physical therapy services to patients in their homes, as directed by a qualified physical therapist and in accordance with physician's plans of care.
  • Treating patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
  • Directing and aiding patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities, and prosthetic training.
  • Administering non-complex therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water, and electrical modalities to clients with relatively stable conditions.
  • Instructing, motivating, and assisting clients in learning and improving functional activities.
  • Observing clients' progress and response to treatment and reporting findings to the physical therapist.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree in science or applied science from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice.
  • At least one year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant (preferred).
  • Compliance with current CPR certification requirements.
  • The ability to make home visits and provide nursing care in a home environment.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and appropriate automobile insurance.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $ $63,750, based on national averages for similar roles in the healthcare industry. However, please note that actual salaries may vary depending on location, experience, and other factors.
