About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Optum in Brooklyn, NY. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammographic images and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mammographic procedures and operate related equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Ensure proper file identification and anatomical orientation on all required images
  • Provide a tranquil environment for patients, adhering to examination instructions
  • Maintain logs, process paperwork for biopsies, and utilize sterile techniques to prevent contamination
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other medical staff to ensure seamless patient care
  • Assist in the completion of the accreditation process for the American College of Radiology (ACR) every three years
  • Provide instruction and mentoring to new hires, promoting a positive and supportive work environment
Requirements
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) (M) certified
  • Diagnostic Mammography Certified
  • Electronic Medical Records experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or Bachelor's Degree in Radiography, Radiation Therapy, or Nuclear Medicine
  • 1+ years of experience as a general radiologic technologist
  • EPIC EMR experience
Physical Demands
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Able to lift patients weighing up to 300 pounds and place them in appropriate positions for operation of equipment
  • Eyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and review developed films
