Clinical Nurse Specialist

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. Francis Medical Center is a key member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill newborns and their families. The CNS is a registered nurse with advanced education and expertise in neonatal nursing, and is accountable for the quality of care provided in the NICU.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and education plans to ensure high-quality care in the NICU.
- Provide clinical orientation, staff development, mentoring, consultation, and maintenance of state and national standards of care.
- Collect, submit, evaluate, and disseminate required data to improve patient outcomes and quality of care.
- Collaborate with the NICU Nursing and Medical Directors to develop and implement the NICU education plan.
- Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.
- Current certification by the State Board of Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- Current certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing from a nationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Three (3) years of clinical experience in neonatal nursing care, with a minimum of one (1) year experience in neonatal nursing care at a NICU that is equivalent to a Regional or Community NICU.
- NRP certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- NRP Instructor preferred.
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $77,584.00 to $123,510.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
