Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Technician to join our Engineering team at Blum, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems associated with automated production and warehouse equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems
  • Electrical support of equipment, including basic electrical construction and maintenance of facilities
  • Answering repair calls from throughout the facility
  • Potential for minimal domestic or international travel for training
  • Working with others on a rotating shift schedule with flexibility to work as needed
  • Performing preventive maintenance on stamping presses, automated pick and place systems, injection molding equipment, automated Warehouse systems, and automated assembly systems
  • Supporting building systems, including compressors, air handlers, pumps, fans, lights, etc.
  • Adjusting and replacing defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electronics
  • Assembling, testing, and maintaining circuitry or electronic components per engineering instructions, technical manuals, and experience
  • Identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions by working with manufacturers or field reps as necessary
  • Maintaining working knowledge of tools, hardware, software, etc., through reading and/or attending conferences, workshops, or other training
  • Performing preventative maintenance and calibration of production processes as scheduled
  • Recommending upgrades and enhancements to existing equipment and procedures
  • Assembling and/or testing machines and equipment
  • Collaborating with other departments to identify, define, and solve problems
  • Evaluating proposals for sound electrical engineering practice and conformance with established safety and code compliance
  • Installing and maintaining electrical control systems
  • Providing technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after installation
  • Performing basic electrical construction tasks, including conduit bending, pulling wire, general maintenance of lights, and breaker panels, amperage, and wire size calculations
Requirements
  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Associate in electrical related studies or completion of a DOL approved apprenticeship program emphasizing Electronics Technology is preferred
  • Equivalent military training or experience will be considered
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an automated industrial manufacturing environment focusing on maintenance and troubleshooting activities
  • Prior experience working with European machinery is preferred
  • Knowledge of equipment, tools, mechanical devices, and their uses to produce motion, light, power, and other applications
  • Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance
  • Experience with PC and PLC based controls, electrical schematics, servo drive systems/software, vision systems, and AC/DC drives
  • Previous experience with PLC design and troubleshooting
  • Troubleshooting experience with AC voltage up to 480V and familiarity with DC controls
  • Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems, their components, and schematics
  • Previous experience with electronic circuit boards and computer hardware/software
