We offer a comprehensive range of service capabilities including advanced monitoring and analytics, scheduled maintenance, augmentation, and auxiliary system upgrades.
Job DescriptionThe Commissioning Technician is primarily responsible for the commissioning of large-scale battery storage projects.
This includes performing and leading a team of internal and 3rd-party engineers and technicians through the process of cold and hot commissioning of all system components, including performance testing at a system level.
In addition, this position interfaces with third-party suppliers of large system components, including inverters, transformers, and air conditioning systems.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 5 days a week, with potential for longer days during certain phases of commissioning.
- Aligns the commissioning safety plan with all parties involved.
- Performs the project commissioning procedure.
- Updates and installs software and settings onto control equipment and switches.
- Tests for communication and network connectivity.
- Clears faults/alarms and diagnoses with vendors on troubleshooting steps.
- Uses software User Interface to charge and discharge batteries.
- Understands and uses the LOTO procedures provided.
Required:
- Safety mindset: must have sound judgment and triage skills to make safe workplace decisions onsite in the field or bring to the appropriate decision makers for consultation.
- Technical competency to troubleshoot and commission complex electrical systems.
- Professional, proactive, adaptable individual with a strong results-oriented work ethic.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills that remain consistent in high-intensity customer-facing interactions in the field.
- Able to think and respond quickly to customer requests in the moment, with project and workplace safety always in mind.
- A strong, collaborative team player able to thrive within a matrix organization.
- Comfortable working with international stakeholders.
- Able to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task in fast-paced environments.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors at project sites in variable weather conditions.
- Minimum Associate's degree.
- Experience having worked on battery projects or solar projects.
