RJY Group LLC is seeking a highly skilled Chiller/HVAC Maintenance Specialist to support our team with various projects in multiple locations. The ideal candidate will be required to perform a variety of tasks, as well as identify areas of improvement, and to increase efficiency of commercial mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Chiller Technician performing routine, and unscheduled, maintenance and repair of industrial mechanical systems including air cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, valves, fan coil units, variable air volume systems, etc.
  • Diagnose and repair of machine and equipment defects including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components related to these systems.
  • Oversee installation and operation of various mechanical systems.
  • Assist in defining and developing the training, materials, and tools needed to support our chiller/HVAC maintenance business.
  • Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues.
  • Maintain all relevant documentation related to all services and tasks performed, including make, model, serial number, necessary test measurements, and pictures, as necessary.
  • Provide detailed, complete, and timely paperwork as required.
  • Identify and report to supervisor/manager potential business, including site visits, conference calls with subcontractors and cost estimation.
  • Additional tasks as required, may include but are not limited to:
    • Scheduling and coordinating services with the customer and vendors/subcontractors.
    • Provide updates to communicate to dispatch, parts procurement, supervisors, and managers, as needed, to keep company and customers informed about work progressions.

Requirements:

  • Experience and or Certification in York Centrifugal and Air-Cooled Chillers preferred.
  • 3 years of experience on 1,000 - 2,000 ton units preferred.
  • Must possess personal tools, or have the ability to purchase those tools upon hire.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Good analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to train junior technicians.
  • Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.
  • Good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in a large facility.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing designs or schematics.
  • Physical ability to perform all necessary job responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 10+ years of experience in chiller/HVAC maintenance, mechanical engineering, or other related fields.
  • 30-Hour OSHA Certification.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

  • May have to spend prolonged outside exposed to inclement weather and/or temperatures.
  • Must have the ability to use hand tools, lift/carry 50 lbs., and to work on ladders/step stools.
