Job Description
We are seeking a Law Student Summer Intern to join our team. As an Apprentice Advocate, you will work closely with experienced attorneys to develop your skills in legal research, writing, and advocacy. You will assist in preparing cases, conducting research, and drafting documents. Your primary focus will be on developing your knowledge and expertise in criminal law and procedure.
Responsibilities
- Assist in researching and drafting legal documents, including motions, briefs, and appeals.
- Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses, and take detailed notes.
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, including records of client communications and court proceedings.
- Prepare and present oral arguments in court, under the supervision of experienced attorneys.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify and address potential issues and areas for improvement in our cases.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A strong academic record, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to analyze complex information and communicate it effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and interact effectively with clients.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- A commitment to public service and a passion for advocating for justice.
Benefits
We offer a competitive salary, ranging from $4,000 to $5,500 per month, depending on experience and qualifications. You will also receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Location
