About the Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team at UCI Health. As a Senior Sleep Study Technician, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders using advanced technology and techniques.

About the Job: The successful candidate will be responsible for performing sleep studies, recording and scoring data, and preparing reports for physicians. They will also assist with training new employees, provide guidance to sleep technicians, and contribute to ongoing education and development of the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform sleep studies, including EOG, EEG, EKG, EMG, Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration.
  2. Review planned procedures and orders for monitoring and determine appropriate course of monitoring.
  3. Collaborate effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure accurate and safe testing procedures.
  4. Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient treatment and testing results.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in sleep medicine and technology through ongoing education and professional development.

Requirements:
  • Registration through BRPT and the Medical Board of California as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
  • Experience in direct patient care, preferably in a sleep disorders setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data and make sound judgments.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
