Principal Mission Planning Engineer

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal Mission Planning Responsible Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, FL. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mission planning architectures, performing hardware/software integration and testing, and ensuring compliance with system requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Interpret and allocate requirements to all levels of a system architecture
- Design and develop mission planning architectures, perform hardware/software integration and testing, certification and requirements analysis
- Trade studies, documenting architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) with regard to supplier current and future products offerings
- Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications
- Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate mission planning solutions to meet platform mission objectives
- Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration, and test support
- Developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
- Building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results, and selection
- Review documents from the supplier's development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) and 0 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
- Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted/renewed within the past 6 years
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Top Secret Security Clearance (needed to start)
- Demonstrated experience in mission planning development for military aircraft weapon systems
- Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels
- Proficient in the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS)
- Experience with working on a multidisciplinary team and writing technical proposals
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
- Experience with supplier/subcontract management
- Experience with scheduling engineering activities
- Experience with Agile development
