Communication Access Professional

Sorenson Communications seeks skilled interpreters to provide high-quality interpretation services in a dynamic community setting. As a part-time Deaf and hearing community interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between individuals with varying language needs.
With a focus on exceptional customer service and linguistic expertise, successful candidates will possess a strong ability to interpret between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English, as well as demonstrate proficiency in visual communication and written English.

Responsibilities- Hearing interpreters will accurately convey spoken English into ASL, ensuring seamless communication for Deaf consumers.
- Deaf interpreters will effectively translate between ASL, tactile signing, other visual forms of communication, and written English.
- Candidates must adhere to Sorenson's policies, procedures, and the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and respect in all interactions.
- Interpreters will provide outstanding customer service, maintaining a respectful attitude while working collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
- They will work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, adapting to various settings and locations to meet community demands.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working as an interpreter, preferably with certification.
- Ability to pass a skills assessment and maintain ongoing professional development.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated fluency in ASL and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, if driving is required.
