Job Description:

As an Automation Systems Engineer at Headway Technologies, you will be responsible for developing and delivering advanced automation systems for semiconductor equipment. Your primary focus will be on designing and implementing models for Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) and Process Control Systems (PCS) applications.

In this role, you will work under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Automation Engineering to create IIoT gateway infrastructure and integrate various sensors and transducers into semiconductor tools. You will collect, analyze, and validate data from different sources, presenting findings to other engineers and production teams.

You will also partner with MIS to purchase equipment and software, meet with vendors, and assist with the implementation and validation of new systems. Additionally, you will administer and maintain the ARTIST system, including Oracle DB, ARTIST application servers, and outstanding upload/parse systems.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring and maintaining the FDC system, recommending processes or procedures for optimizing the system and improving functionality. You will use statistical modeling, data analysis, simulations, and algorithms to resolve complex automation issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred
  • Three years of experience in software or hardware modeling, simulation, or algorithms
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, and experience with C#, C++, Windows/Linux OS, MS Office, Oracle/SQL databases, computer networking, and shell scripting
About the Role:

This is a full-time position located in Milpitas, California. The annual base salary for this role is estimated to be between $96,655.20 and $142,140.00, plus bonus target and benefits. Please note that individual pay may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience.

The schedule for this role primarily involves working in an office environment Monday to Friday, with occasional travel to meetings and possible work in a class 100 ESD sensitive wafer manufacturing facility. As an Automation Systems Engineer, you will be required to stand and walk, perform fine grasping movements, bend, and twist while operating a computer, entering information using a keyboard, and utilizing other office equipment.
