Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Location: Austin, TX

Shift: Variable Shifts, 10 Hours, 4 shifts per week (40 scheduled hours)

Hourly Rate: $33 - $44 per hour

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Tech to join our team on a PRN basis. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will perform high-quality ultrasound procedures, providing timely and accurate diagnostic information while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound procedures following exam protocols, ensuring timely and accurate results
  • Communicate with patients using AIDET techniques to explain procedures and ensure correct exams are performed
  • Position patients, adjust immobilization devices, and configure equipment to ensure optimal results
  • Adhere to safety protocols, infection control, and radiation policies, ensuring the well-being of both patients and staff
  • Maintain equipment and work areas, report any issues, and assist in managing supplies inventory
  • Obtain and maintain all relevant patient documentation, including medical history and shielding precautions
  • Ensure that medical imaging records are stored and maintained in compliance with department policies
  • Serve as a preceptor, training new team members and supporting new service initiatives

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Certification/License:
  • Registered in one of the following:
  • ARDMS (OB/GYN), (AB), (BR), (MSK), or (RVT)
  • ARRT (S) or (BS)
  • CCI (RVS)
