Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Audiologist Clinical Specialist to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a key member of our audiology department, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical services to our patients, including comprehensive hearing testing, hearing aid prescription and management, and tinnitus management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations and provide expert recommendations for hearing aid selection and management.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with tinnitus, including sound therapy and counseling.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients with hearing and balance disorders.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in audiology and tinnitus management, and incorporate this knowledge into your practice.
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on hearing and balance disorders, and tinnitus management.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Audiology (AUD) degree from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure to practice audiology in the United States.
  • At least two years of experience as a professional audiologist, with at least one year comparable to the next lower grade level (GS-12).
  • Advanced knowledge in a focused area of contemporary audiology practice, such as tinnitus management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Working Conditions

This position is located in a clinical setting, and the incumbent will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The incumbent may be exposed to patients who are combative, secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders, and patients who require restraints. The incumbent must be a mature, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, demonstrating cheerfulness, compassion, courtesy, and concern.
