As a Medical Assistant with Sentara Healthcare, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in our urgent care settings. Key Responsibilities- Perform patient care and administrative tasks, including phlebotomy, vital sign collection, and preparation of patients for medical procedures.
- Work closely with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive, patient-focused attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
- RMA, CMA, or EMT-B certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting or as an EMT, Paramedic, or Corpsman preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience and electronic medical records experience preferred.
