Mobile Imaging Specialist for X-Ray Procedures

Magnet Medical seeks a skilled Mobile Imaging Specialist to perform X-ray procedures in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary: $60.00 per hour (40 hours/week), based on 8-hour shifts, with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis role involves:
- Pre-Procedure Preparation:
- Review patient medical history and physician orders for X-ray procedures.
- Prepare and check the X-ray equipment, ensuring proper function and readiness.
- Explain procedures to patients to alleviate concerns and ensure understanding.
- Verify patient identity and ensure necessary paperwork, including informed consent forms if needed.
- Ensure proper patient positioning and preparation for procedures.
- X-Ray Imaging:
- Position patients correctly to obtain accurate images of specific areas using proper techniques and guidelines.
- Operate X-ray machines to capture images of bones, organs, tissues, and other internal structures as requested by physicians.
- Adjust machine settings based on body part, patient size, and medical condition.
- Ensure image quality meets diagnostic standards, making adjustments as needed.
- Communicate with patients during procedures, providing instructions to ensure clear and accurate images.
- Patient Safety and Comfort:
- FOLLOW RADIATION SAFETY PROTOCOLS TO MINIMIZE PATIENT AND STAFF EXPOSURE.
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure comfort and provide reassurance when necessary.
- Ensure safe patient positioning to avoid injury or discomfort during imaging.
- Address patient concerns or side effects that may arise during or after procedures.
- Image Quality and Analysis:
- Review X-ray images to ensure they meet quality standards for interpretation by radiologists or physicians.
- Confirm that images meet medical requirements, with correct body part alignment and exposure.
- If images are unclear or incomplete, repeat procedures as needed, adjusting settings or patient positioning.
- Provide preliminary assessments or observations to physicians if required, within scope of practice.
- Post-Procedure Care:
- Assist patients after procedures, ensuring stability and comfort before leaving the imaging area.
- Remove protective lead aprons or coverings from patients.
- Provide post-procedure instructions, including care for potential side effects or follow-up requirements.
- Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance and checks on X-ray equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Ensure the imaging room and equipment are clean and disinfected after each patient, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Troubleshoot basic issues with the X-ray machine, reporting any malfunctions or concerns to appropriate staff for repair or service.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Document all relevant patient information, procedures performed, and images captured in the electronic health record (EHR) or imaging system.
- Ensure images are properly labeled, filed, and stored in the system for future reference and analysis by physicians.
- Maintain accurate logs of X-ray procedures, equipment use, and any issues that arise during operations.
- Collaboration with Medical Team:
- Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure prompt and accurate image review.
- Communicate effectively with the medical team about any issues related to image quality or the need for additional imaging.
- Ensure follow-up imaging or additional procedures are scheduled as needed.
- Radiation Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to established safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure for both patients and staff.
- Use protective equipment when necessary to protect patients and others in the vicinity.
- Comply with all radiation safety standards, including guidelines for exposure levels and safety measures specific to the facility.
- Professional Development and Training:
- Stay current with advances in radiologic technology, including improvements in X-ray imaging and new safety protocols.
- Participate in continuing education programs, workshops, or certification courses to maintain licensure and keep up with industry standards.
- Assist in the training of new technologists, students, or interns, offering guidance on technical aspects of imaging and patient care.
