Tennessee Oncology is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Palliative Care Physician to join our team. As an integral part of our multidisciplinary oncology team, you will provide specialized care to patients facing cancer and serious illness.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have expertise in managing complex symptoms associated with cancer and its treatment, as well as experience in conducting thorough assessments and developing patient-centered care plans. You will work closely with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive symptom management, psychosocial support, and care coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality outpatient palliative care for oncology patients
  • Collaborate with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
  • Conduct thorough assessments and manage complex symptoms associated with cancer and its treatment
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure alignment of goals of care
  • Educate patients and families about palliative care options and advance care planning
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions
  • Provider supervision and teaching to Palliative nurse practitioners on our team
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of palliative care programs
Requirements and Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Fellowship training in Palliative Care is highly desirable
  • Board certification in Palliative Care (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience in oncology or familiarity with oncologic conditions is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
