About Our Job

We're seeking an experienced and certified professional to lead our adaptive recreation programs in the City and County of Denver. As a Certified Adaptive Recreation Instructor, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating goal-based adaptive recreation programs that enrich physical, mental, emotional, social, and leisure skills for individuals with disabilities.

The starting pay for this position is $21.54 per hour, with opportunities for additional paid hours for planning, set-up, and break-down time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with full-time staff to plan and implement adaptive recreation programs
  • Provide coaching and guidance to adaptive recreation staff
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive program environment
  • Oversee volunteers and aid in facilitation of programs
  • Develop instructional plans and evaluate student progress

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience as an instructor in an organized specialized recreation program
  • Certification in the specialized field required

Location

This position will work on-site at multiple recreation centers and other locations around the City and County of Denver. You can expect to work day, evening, and weekend hours.
