Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Science major to join our team as a Quality Assurance and Food Safety Intern. This internship program aims to provide experiential learning opportunities and connect concepts learned in the classroom to real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creates accounts for new ingredient/vendor FSQA Blount SafetyChain portal for documentation.
  • Maintains SafetyChain portal up to date with existing raw material specification and vendor FSQA.
  • Assists with the daily tracking of the new ingredient/vendor documentation approvals status in the Blount internal raw material tracker.
  • Provides support with any new Portal SafetyChain features and projects implementation.
  • Trains teams and vendors on SafetyChain portal.
  • Pulls reports of Suppliers compliance from the SafetyChain portal.
Requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to details.
  • Food Science undergraduate.
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work and problem solve.
  • Maintain a positive attitude to continued learning and support of the overall business.
Education and Experience

Degree (B.A.) candidate from College or University or related experience in Food science; or equivalent combination of both education and experience.

Language Skills

Level II: the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally in English as it pertains to individual position.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software, competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
