We are seeking an experienced and dedicated academic instructor to join our team at West Hills Community College District. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of Ethnic Studies.

The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Ethnic Studies or a related field, with a strong background in instructional design and delivery. You will be expected to create engaging lesson plans, assess student learning, and provide individualized support to ensure student success.

This is a part-time adjunct faculty position, which means you will work on a per-course basis. We offer competitive compensation, including enrollment into CalSTRS retirement system, sick leave, and access to our state-of-the-art facilities.

**Estimated Salary: $68-$75 per hour**

**Job Responsibilities:**

  • Instruct and evaluate students effectively in face-to-face, hybrid, or online classes
  • Implement contemporary teaching methods that enhance learning and utilize technology to perform instructional and non-instructional duties
  • Assess and evaluate class content, materials, and make changes to address gaps and areas of growth based on student needs
  • Champion collaborative practices in instruction that lead to an active student-centered environment and close equity and gender gaps

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Masters in the ethnic studies field or a related field
  • Evidence of sensitivity and responsiveness to the diversity within the community college student population
