Job Overview

Rady Children's Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join their team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As an NICU Critical Care Specialist, you will have the opportunity to provide high-level care to critically ill newborns and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to perform and assist in surgeries on newborns.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced RN with a minimum of 2 years of recent Level 4 experience. A strong Level 3 RN with experience in a Level 3 NICU that performs surgeries on newborns and a strong first-time traveler may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level care to critically ill newborns in the NICU
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to perform and assist in surgeries on newborns
  • Float between various units including PICU & CVICU and NICU satellite campuses as needed
  • Maintain and operate specialized equipment necessary for the care of infants with complex medical conditions
  • Manage and administer care for infants requiring ventilatory support and specialized procedures

Requirements

  • Valid California License required
  • BLS, Advanced NRP (PALS Preferred)
  • Experience with oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, Nasal Cannula specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC, UVC, PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-Tubes
  • Comfort with line changes involving multiple drips, pre and post-operative care
  • FLU SHOT REQUIRED (No exemptions)
  • Willingness to float between units and NICU satellite campuses
  • Own transportation
  • Ability to work every other weekend and two out of three holidays

What We Offer

  • Estimated Salary: $84,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
