Poultry and Crop Farmworker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Farmworker and Laborer to join our team at Pallman Farms. As a Crop and Nursery Farmworker, you will be responsible for the general care and maintenance of turkeys and chickens. Your duties may include removing poults and chicks from shipping cartons and placing them in brooder houses, cleaning and filling feeders and water containers, spraying poultry houses with disinfectants and vaccines, inspecting poultry for diseases, and removing weak, ill, and dead poultry from the flock. You may also be responsible for selecting, weighing, and crating turkeys and chickens, recording totals packed or crated on shipping or storage documents, maintaining feeding and breeding reports, monitoring feed, water, illumination, and ventilation systems, and performing minor maintenance and repairs on farm vehicles, implements, and equipment. Additionally, you may operate and perform minor maintenance and repairs on farm vehicles, implements, and equipment, perform farm, field, and shed sanitation duties, direct and monitor the work of casual and seasonal help during planting and harvesting, and operate farm vehicles to haul crops and drive other farmworkers from place to place around the farm properties.

Job Details:
All workers are required to follow common sanitary practices at all times. Workers are required to cleanse their hands by washing thoroughly with soap and water before entering the field for harvest activities and after each break. Smoking and the use of tobacco products are prohibited during working time.
