We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team in the Cardiac Surgical Unit at Della Infotech, Inc.

Job Overview

The Critical Care Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients with cardiovascular disease, pre/post Cath Lab and IR procedures, and fresh open heart surgery. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a CVICU setting, managing complex medical conditions, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires 4 days of orientation and validated skills for some competencies. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in cardiac surgical nursing and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with the healthcare team. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients with cardiovascular disease, pre/post Cath Lab and IR procedures, and fresh open heart surgery.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Monitor and manage complex medical conditions, including cardiovascular disease, arrhythmias, and respiratory failure.
  • Perform various medical procedures, including catheterization, angioplasty, and coronary artery bypass grafting.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including medication administration, vital signs, and laboratory results.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A current RN license in good standing in any state (Compact License Accepted).
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a CVICU or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac surgical nursing principles, including hemodynamics, cardiology, and cardiovascular pharmacology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the healthcare team.
  • Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, and CRRT Prismaflex.
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

  • Experience working with IABP, Impella, and ECMO devices.
  • Knowledge of CVVH/Prismaflex and CRRT technologies.
  • Experience working in a travel contract capacity.
